Jeff is a member of the US Homeland Security Advisory Council and the Global Council on the Stability of Cyberspace as well as a Non-resident Senior Fellow at the Atlantic Council, a lifetime member of the Council on Foreign Relations, and a member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Agenda Council on Cyber Security. He is also the founder and CEO of DEF CON and previously founded Black Hat Briefings, two of the world’s most influential information security events. He has spent his career at the intersection of hacking, cybersecurity and Internet governance. Today, Jeff serves on the Board of Directors of Compagnie Financière Richemont SA and is an angel investor in the security space. Previously, Jeff served as the Chief Security Officer of ICANN (the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers). Jeff holds a BA in Criminal Justice from Gonzaga University.
