Taylor first got into computers by crashing servers at Microsoft as a teenager. He became an M&A and venture lawyer at Wilson Sonsini in Palo Alto, where he managed over $21 billion in transactions, advising on mergers and acquisitions, venture financing, and corporate governance. He returned to his technical roots in 2019, founding Keys Inc. (Techstars '20), one of the first venture-backed generative AI companies.

As a lawyer, Taylor taught Selected Topics in Venture Capital at Berkeley Law, covering the ins and outs of venture capital, common founder pitfalls, and capital formation. Currently, his speaker series, The Anti-VC Playbook to VC Fundraising, has helped hundreds of founders raise over $100 million in venture capital.

Taylor earned his JD from Berkeley School of Law and holds a BA from UC Berkeley, graduating summa cum laude and as a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
