Gordon is an adjunct senior fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations. Most recently, Gordon was Managing Director in charge of External Affairs at Silver Lake. Prior, Gordon held positions at Clark & Weinstock and Albright Stonebridge Group. He is a scholar of international affairs who has served as an international security advisor to the strategic planning unit of the executive office of the United Nations secretary-general and as a Wayland fellow and guest lecturer at the Watson Institute for International Studies at Brown University. Gordon is the best-selling author of Lessons In Disaster: McGeorge Bundy and The Path to War in Vietnam. Gordon holds a Masters of Philosophy and a Ph.D. in political science from Columbia College.
